The driver must be able to scan the sticker from the driver’s seat without searching for it. The same rule applies to all formats: a flat, clean surface that the driver can see, outside the field of view and never on an airbag.
Choose a position
The yellow marker shows where the sticker goes. The images show a left-hand-drive car.
Put the strip on the driver’s sun visor, on the side that shows when the visor is folded down. The driver folds the visor down and scans.
Put the card on the front of the dashboard between the centre console and the glovebox, or on another flat surface with no controls. Not on top of the dashboard on the passenger side, where the airbag is.
Put the card where it is visible in the cabin: on the glovebox lid, on the door panel or in a holder. This format suits lorries and buses with large, flat surfaces.
Put the small decal on the side of the centre console, on the door panel or where the driver already has other stickers. It also fits in the driver’s binder or the key cabinet.
Apply the sticker
Clean the surface
Wipe the surface with a cloth and a little rubbing alcohol. Let it dry. Dust and silicone from car-care products make the sticker come loose.
Peel off the backing paper
Peel off one edge at a time, so that you can adjust the position.
Press from the centre outwards
Press the sticker down from the centre towards the edges to avoid air bubbles. Press once more over the whole surface.
Scan
Open the phone camera and point it at the code. If Bump! opens with the correct vehicle, the sticker is in a good position.
Tell the drivers
Show the instruction video in the driver’s language. It takes under five minutes and shows the whole flow.
Keep in mind
Never on an airbag
The top of the dashboard on the passenger side, the centre of the steering wheel and the pillars are airbag covers. A sticker there can cause injury in a crash.
Not in the field of view
Nothing on the windscreen or the side windows. It blocks the view and is not permitted.
Not on controls or screens
Buttons, knobs and screens must stay clear. The sticker must not sit where the driver rests a hand either.
Visible in daylight
Glossy surfaces in direct sunlight give reflections that the camera cannot read through. Choose a matt surface in shade.
One sticker per vehicle
The code belongs to the vehicle. If the vehicle changes owner or leaves the fleet, remove the sticker.
Replace worn stickers
A scratched or faded code can stop working. Print a new one from the portal; the code is the same.
